For plant and equipment September this year is a big date for emissions standards in the Greater London area, Stage IIIb becomes the minimum requirement, Stage IV within in the Central Activity Zone and Canary Wharf. This applies to engines with a power output above 37kw. This will typically cover anything larger than a 5t Excavator or a 3t Dumper. We have 5 years at this standard until 2025 where the whole of London is reuired to be IV, then satge V in 2030 followed by zero emissions in 2040.
For vehicles on the 26th October 2020 anything with a weight above 3.5t Euro VI becomes the minimum standard, Euro IV is the current standard. For smaller vehicles there is no change from the current Euro III standard. This applies to The LEZ, there are already tougher standards within the congestion charging zone, where Euro VI is already the requirement.
